Regular Meeting
August 11, 2025

The meeting was called to order by the vice-president. The following members were present: Rev. Green, Mr. Lane, Mrs. Smith, Ms. Sykes, Mrs. Thompson and Mr. Williams. Mr. Livingston was absent.

The July 14, 2025 minutes and financial report were approved as presented.

A motion was made by Rev. Green and seconded by Mrs. Thompson to approve the Arkansas State Captive Insurance Program (SCIP) for property Insurance Coverage in the amount of $157,187.79. The motion carried.

The superintendent discussed Carpenter and Sons Construction proposed bids to add restrooms in the warehouse/field house. Also, a letter from the Arkansans Department of Education Rules Governing Test Security on ATLAS Test was discussed.

A motion was made by Mr. Lane and seconded by Mr. Williams to purchase a 2020 micro mini bus with 60,463 miles for $53,000 from Central State Bus Sales in St. Louis, Missouri. This purchase will be based solely on the condition of the bus after a thorough inspection. The motion carried.

The superintendent gave the board an update on District Professional Development (August 4 th – 8 th ), Student Dress Policy, School Board Trainings (Arkansas Public School Resource Center on September 25 and October 9, 2025); ASBA (September 4th Fall Conference, Hot Springs, Region 14 Meeting (October 14, 2025) in Hamburg 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. and ASBA Annual Conference December 10 th to 12 th in Little Rock Convention Center). The District school bus routes were discussed and a good standing member certificate from the Arkansas School Boards Association was presented to the board.

The Vice-president requested that the board go into executive session for the purpose of employment, promotion, discipline or resignation of personnel. After the discussion, the public was allowed to return.

A motion was made by Rev. Green and seconded by Ms. Sykes to accept the resignation of Lawrence Frey (High School Art) and approve the contracts for Erick Edwards (Food Service), Natasha Bolden, Ashley Spinks and Kentirus Drew (As-needed bus drivers). The motion carried.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:15 P.M.
